Justin Bieber Going To Trial Over DUI Case
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.25.2014

TMZ reports that Justin Bieber's legal team and Miami Beach prosecutors have not come to an agreement in his DUI case and it is likely that a trial will happen.

Prosecutors offered a no contest plea to reckless driving with the condition that Bieber has to have random drug testing for six to nine months. Bieber's camp will not accept a plea that has probationary terms, especially drug testing. Prosecutors will not agree to a deal if Bieber doesn't agree to random drug testing.

A trial is now more likely since a deal can't be reached. Law enforcement sources know there are problems with the arresting officers. One of them may have lied about smelling alcohol in Bieber's breath (he blew an .014) while the other claimed he was drag racing (he was driving at 27 MPH). However, prosecutors still think they have a chance if the case goes to trial. Bieber's lawyer Roy Black is willing to fight the matter in court.

Bieber could be tried for the charges of DUI, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license. The maximum punishment he could receive is two and a half years in jail.
