Robin Thicke And Paula Patton Had Issues In Their Marriage For Some Time
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.25.2014

US Weekly reports that Robin Thicke and Paula Patton had been having problems for a while prior to announcing their split yesterday. They are separating after eight years of marriage. It's been somewhat surprising to fans, as both defended their relationship just this past August after Thicke's raunchy performance with Miley Cyrus at the VMAs. There were also rumors at the time that he cheated on her at an August 25 party.

A source said: "It has been a long time coming. It is not a shock to Robin or Paula, and it is something they have discussed for a long time."

The two said in a statement yesterday: "We will always love each other and be best friends. However, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."

Another source added: "Their marriage was unraveling for a long time."

Not only have they faced rumors of their split prior to this announcement, but Thicke actually bragged about their sex life in an October interview with Elle. He said: "The spice is not our problem. We're overspiced. We could probably take a few spices off the shelf."

In an interview with Prestige Hong Kong Magazine in September, Patton said they were "best friends" and always there for one another. She added: "I've been there for his down moments and he's been there for mine. Life is full of peaks and valleys. Robin has always been a great person to remind me to celebrate now."
