Billboard reports that Queen and Adam Lambert have announced a summer tour of North America that will last for 19 shows. It starts on June 19 in Chicago. Original Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor will be on the tour, which is presented by Live Nation.
The group first performed together in May 2009 on an episode of American Idol. They also performed at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards along with shows in Russia, Ukraine, Poland and London.
Lambert said on Good Morning America today: "Queen is one of the quintessential rock bands of all time. They've influenced bands for years to come."
In a press release to announce the tour, May hinted that this could be the last North American run for Queen. He said: "Let's rock those beautiful arenas JUST ONE MORE TIME!"
Lambert said the tour was "beautifully surreal". He said he would honor the memory of Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991. He added: "He's a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band."
