They won't be releasing it this year...
U2 has pushed off their new album and tour to 2015. Billboard reports that the band's new album, which will be their thirteenth, is moving forward but won't drop this year as was expected. The band has scheduled additional sessions with producers Ryan Tedder and Paul Epworth to work on the LP, with a source close to the project saying, It seems to be taking longer for them to finish an album as they get older, but the great thing about U2 is that the whole of a record is always better than the sum of its parts. That magic that the band always seems to capture ... they have yet to capture it."
A rep for Interscope denied that the album is "delayed" since a release date was never announced, but a tour that was initially planned for September will now begin in the summer of next year. The band has been prevalent in the public eye as of late, with the debut of a new song during the Super Bowl and an Oscar nomination for their song from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
