Bill O'Reilly Claims Beyonce's Video For "Partition" Will Cause Unwanted Pregnancies
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.13.2014

NME reports that Bill O'Reilly said that Beyonce's video for "Partition" could cause unwanted pregnancies. He said this during an itnerview with Def Jam Records founder Russell Simmons. He called the video "exploitative garbage" and said it would encourage teen pregnancy in young women, especially African American women who looked up to Beyonce. He said the video "glorifies having sex in the back of a limousine" and Beyonce "has an obligation to protect children".

He added: "Girls look up to Beyoncé, particularly girls of colour. She's an idol to themů I'm saying: Why on earth would this woman do that? Why would she do it when she knows the devastation that unwanted pregnancies - and fractured families - why would Beyoncé do that?"

Simmons defended Beyonce and said: "She's a brilliant artist. And she's not only appreciated by people of color, as you know, she's really one of the top artists in the world to people of every color. The artist's job throughout history has been to tell the same things that people are inspired by. So when an artist expresses something that is sexual in music, it's a reflection of our reality."
