The tragedy gets worse...
CNN reports that a third person has died of injuries from last week's SXSW incident in which a car drove into a group of people in Austin, Texas. Austin police spokeswoman Veneza Bremner said the victim was Sandy Thuy Le, 26.
Police claim that Rashad Charjuan Owens drove into people and other cars at the festival while under the influence on Thursday. He was charged with two counts of capital murder. The accident happened after Owens refused to stop for an officer who tried to pull him over.
Along with the initial two deaths, 23 people were hospitalized, some of which had multiple internal injuries. Most of the victims were in their 20s (according to Dr. Christopher Ziebell, medical director at the University Medical Center Brackenridge). A Travis County grand jury will decide if Owens will be charged again due to the third death.
