A big lineup announced...
The Chicago Tribune reports that while the lineup for the Lollapalooza won't be announced until next week, the headliners will include Eminem, Skrillex, Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys. The event takes place on August 1-3 in Grant Park for the tenth year. All four will be making their returns.
Eminem performed in 2011. He's coming off the release of last year's The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which debuted at #1 and sold around 2 million copies. Skrillex first performed there in 2011 and came back last year with his Dog Blood side project. His return is part of Lollapalooza's large role to help advance dance and electronic acts. Daft Punk, Deadmau5 and Avicii have performed at the festival in the past. Kings of Leon headlined in 2009. Arctic Monkeys last appeared in the late afternoon in 2011, but this will be their first headlining set.
The festival will feature over 100 bands and artists on eight stages. It became a top festival in 2005 and is based in Chicago. Austin-based C3 Presents promote the show, which began in 1991 as a multi-band touring event built arround Jane's Addiction's farewell tour. Tickets go on sale next Tuesday.
