Its biggest week yet...
Billboard reports that Disney's soundtrack to Frozen is set to get #1 on the Billboard 200 for its seventh nonconsecutive week. It may also get its best sales week so far.
The album could sell around 200,000 by the end of the tracking week (Sunday, March 23). The increase in sales is due to promotions around the film's home video release yesterday. Its previous best sales week was 165,000 copies. This past week it sold 99,000. The Billboard 200 will be revealed next week.
The album is being placed near the DVD/Blu-ray version of the film at all major retails (Target, Walmart and Best Buy). The soundtrack is not sale-priced. Frozen will be far ahead of the other albums.
The top new release will likely be YG's debut album My Krazy Life with around 60,000. Foster the People's Supermodel and Skrillex's Recess will sell around 50,000 to 55,000 each. The Pretty Reckless, Taylor Momsen's band's album Going to Hell will sell between 25,000 and 30,000.
