Chris Brown May Settle With Washington DC Assault Victim
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.20.2014

TMZ reports that Chris Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos has contacted the lawyer for the man who claims Brown assaulted him in Washington DC (and broke his nose), offering him a settlement to drop the charges.

The assault trial could cause a probation violation in his Rihanna assault case and put him in prison for four years. Geragos wants a civil settlement. If the victim gets paid, he would then tell prosecutors he doesn't want to continue with the criminal case. Prosecutors are aware of the civil settlement negotiations. Geragos has either reached a deal or will do so within the next couple of days.

If a deal is reached, the victim would get a large amount of money (likely hundreds of thousands of dollars) and prosecutors would drop the case. The judge in the Rihanna assault case would then let Brown out of jail either late this week or early next week.
