Rihanna, Justin Timberlake And More Finalists For iHeartRadio Music Awards

Billboard reports that Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and Imagine Dragons are among the finalists for the first-ever iHeartRadio Music Awards. The ceremony airs on May 1 on NBC from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Rihanna has seven nominations in five categories including artist of the year, song of the year and best collaboration ("The Monster" with Eminem). Timberlake has five in four categories, including artist and song of the year. Imagine Dragons have four nominations, including artist of the year and alternative song of the year (for "Demons"). Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Maroon 5 are also up for artist of the year. Best New artist includes Florida Georgia Line, Icona Pop, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Passenger and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

The event will feature "this year's biggest artists and songs" along with "live performances, never-before-done duets and collaborations." This will include performances from other venues in Los Angeles. Nominees were based on resuluts from the iHeartRadioChart, which puts together airplay-based listener feedback and performance data, digital streaming date from the iHeartRadio platform/sales and social video data and tags from Big Champagne and Shazam. The data was put together by Mediabase based on date from the past year.
