Chris Brown’s Lawyer Says Prosecutors in Assault Case Abused Their Power
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 03.27.2014

TMZ reports that Chris Brown's lawyer is saying the prosecutors in his Washington DC assault case had no right to take Brown's case before a grand jury and wants Brown's charges thrown out.

Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, is saying in his legal documents that the US Attorney had already decided to reduce the charge on Brown from a felony to a misdemeanor assault. He also alleges that the only reason a grand jury was convened was to get a preview of how the witnesses in their case would fare under oath. Now Geragos is claiming prosecutors used the grand jury for a dry run and that is an abuse of power.
