New Michael Jackson Album Xscape Coming In May
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.31.2014

Billboard reports that Epic Records and Michael Jackson's escape will release a new album called Xscape on May 13. The album will include eight previously unreleased song.

Epic CEO and album executive producer LA Reid gathered recordings in which Jackson's vocals were completed then began "contemporizing" them. The lead producer was Timbaland who worked with Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome "Jroc" Harmon and John McClain.

Reid said: "Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with. We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world."

The album is named after one of the songs on the album, which was written and produced by Jackson and Jerkins (who recorded the original with Jackson).

A deluxe edition of the album will feature all of the recordings in their original form. The standard and deluxe editions will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow on iTunes and other outlets. There will be a new ad from One Sony sister company, including Sony Network Entertainment. Sony and Jackson's estate will work with Sony Mobile on the ad, which includes a new version of "Slave to the Rhythm". More information, including a track list, will be announced soon.
