Lil Wayne Says 'April Fool's' To Retirement
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.01.2014

As previously reported, Lil Wayne has been adamant for a while now that his upcoming LP, Tha Carter V, will be his last solo LP. But will it? The Young Money CEO posted the following to Twitter on Tuesday that set the internet to speculating whether his whole retirement plan was a prank:

Considering that it wouldn't be much of an April Fool's Day joke if he revealed it right off the bat, the speculation is that he has either waited until today to let fans in on the joke or that he's still retiring, but that the prank was in fact to get people questioning whether he will. Either way, Weezy isn't talking and hasn't commented on the tweet yet.

As we reported, Wayne reiterated to MTV News a few weeks ago that Tha Carter V will be the end of his solo career, though he said he would occasionally feature on other artist's LPs when it felt right. When asked if he was serious he said, "I didn't smile when I said it."

Tha Carter V drops on May 5th.
