Martin Garrix Makes Billboard Social 50 Chart Debut This Week
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 04.03.2014

Billboard reports that EDM star Martin Garrix made his debut on the Billboard Social 50 chart this weeks after his performance at the Ultra Music Festival during the March 28-30 weekend.

Garrix enters the chart at No. 39. He had a 49% increase in conversation across multiple platforms for the week ending March 30. His manager, Scooter Braun also shared photos of himself with Garrix to his Instagram account. They received about 55,000 likes each.

Ariana Grande had a strong rise this week, going from 14-5. Grande is also managed by Braun. Her surge follows an appearance for a recent Livestream session where she played some snippets of new songs from her upcoming second album. One of those songs is a collaboration with Chris Brown and garnered a number of news stories online. This led to an increased conversation on Grande by about 51% for the week.

Rounding out the chart this week: Justin Bieber was No. 1; Shakira remained at No. 2; Katy Perry went up to No. 3; Selena Gomez went up to No. 4; Beyonce stayed at No. 6; Miley Cyrus dropped down from 3-7; Taylor Swift went down from 4-8; Eminem had a drop from 7-9; and Bruno Mars rounds out the top 10 at No. 10.
