Kasabian To Headline Glastonbury 2014
Posted by Joseph Lee on 04.04.2014

NME reports that Kasabian will headline the 2014 Glastonbury festival on Sunday, June 29, joining Arcade Fire (who headline on Friday, June 27). They join 86 other acts. The festival takes place on June 27-29. Kasabian will perform on the Pyramid Stage for the first time. Serge Pizzorno says he can now "die a happy man".

He added: "We knew we were in the running which was amazing. Being in the running is fine but you don't want to be in the race, you want to win it. You want to be on the podium. We got the phone call I felt relieved because we've always wanted to do it from the first rehearsal, day one of the first rehearsal. We kicked into a tune and sort of went, 'Glastonbury!', a full on shout out."

The Saturday headliner has not been revealed. Disclosure, Lily Allen, Lana Del Rey, Warpaint, Blondie, The Black Keys and Dolly Parton were some of the acts confirmed earlier this year.

The event is current sold out but a resale of tickets that were canceled or refunded will go on sale at the end of April. Ticket and coach packages will be sold on April 24 (starting at 7 PM) and general admission tickets go back on sale on April 27 (at 9 AM). They cost £210 ($348) plus a £5 ($8.30) booking fee. You have to be registered with a photo at Glastonbury.seetickets.com by 5pm on April 21 to get a ticket. For those who have already paid for their ticket with adeposit, the remaining balance of £160 ($265)plus £5 ($8.30) booking fee will be due in the first week of this month.
