Rolling Stones Confirm Rescheduled Australia Tour
Posted by Joseph Lee on 04.04.2014

The Rolling Stones have confirmed on their official website that their tour of Australia and New Zealand has been rescheduled.

They said in a statement: The rescheduled Australia/ New Zealand tour dates will take place between 25 October to 22 November 2014. Exact dates for each city will be released as soon as the scheduling is confirmed. Australia/New Zealand promoters ask ticket holders to please hold on to their tickets until further notice. The Rolling Stones wish to thank their fans in Australia and New Zealand for their patience and understanding at this time.

This comes after Frontier Touring (who is presenting the tour with AEG Live) promoter Michael Gudinski told Billboard earlier this week that there were ongoing talks to resume the tour in October and November.

The tour was originally postponed after the March 17 death of Mick Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott. Seven dates were canceled including a concert for the redesigned Adelaide Oval. The band and others could lose as much as $10 million in revenue.

The band first performed in Australia in January/February 1965 and returned in 1966. They toured there for nine shows in 1973, followed by the "Voodoo Lounge" tour in 1995, the "Licks" tour in 2003 and the "A Bigger Bang" tour in 2006, which included four shows in Australia and New Zealand.

The band have also announced several 2014 summer concerts in Europe and Israe
