Chris Brown Facing Felony Prosecution in Assault Case

Chris Brown could be facing felony prosecution in his Washington D.C. assault case. TMZ reports that prosecutors in the case, which stems from Brown allegedly attacking a man who tried to photobomb a fan's picture, have taken the case to a grand jury is because they believe they have enough evidence to support a felony prosecution. Currently, Brown is charged with misdemeanor assault.
Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos is trying to get the case dismissed by arguing that the prosecutors misused the grand jury system by trying to get a "dry run" of the trial. But the prosecutors argue that because the injuries were serious enough to require hospitalization on the part of the alleged victim, it could justify a felony if more evidence is obtained.
