Lily Allen Says Her Feud with Azealia Banks Helped with Her Songwriting
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 04.13.2014

Speaking to The Sun, Lily Allen said the feud she had with Azealia Banks helped with her songwriting. According to Allen, she was unable to rediscover her voice after a hiatus where she had children, until Banks went on Twitter and said Allen's kids were ugly.

Allen said on the spat, "I tried to write through my pregnancy with my youngest, but the hormones were really weird and it was just really forced and sounded terrible." She added, "Then it wasn't until I stopped breastfeeding six months on [that] Azealia tweeted me on Twitter, that I was like, 'Yes, you know who I am.' I found my voice again, then I just bashed it all out. It was like two years of writing before I found it."
