There Are Rumors That AC/DC May Retire

But Australia can't get its stories straight...
Either AC/DC is going to retire, or they're not going to retire. It seems Australia really doesn't know what's going on, because there are now two conflicting stories that suggest both.
The Sydney Morning Herald suggests that the band may finally hang it up because of an illness. Peter Ford commented on radio station 3AW that "we may not hear them perform or record ever again". That's when it was reported that Malcolm Young (guitarist, songwriter, founding member) had returned to Australia with his family. According to that report, the band has a deal that they will not replace any members if they have to leave. So if Young left, they would be without a guitarist.
The Herald claimed: "He is believed to be unable to continue playing, although there has not been any explanation why."
Meanwhile, The Australian didn't get the memo, as they claim the band will record in Vancouver for six weeks starting May 1. Several sources have also told Billboard that they are "unaware of any break-up or change". The band and their label Alberts haven't commented.
Brian Johnson said earlier this year that they would begin work on a new album, as their 40th anniversary approaches. There were even rumors that they would celebrate that milestone with a tour. Recording had been postponed when one of the band members became sick.
