Pharrell Williams Logs Eighth Week At Top of Billboard Singles Chart
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.16.2014

There's no stopping Pharrell Williams' runaway hit "Happy." Billboard reports that the Oscar-nominated song spent an eighth week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has the longest reign on the chart since Lorde's "Royals," which spent nine weeks on top of the chart through December 7th of last year.

The song held off John Legend's "All of Me," which was #2 for a fourth week. Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" featuring Juicy J similarly spent a fourth week at #3 while Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty" featuring 2 Chainz was steady at #4 for its sixth week and Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" was #5 once again.

Repetition was the name of the game throughout the chart; Bastille's "Pompeii" was steady at #6 while Lorde's "Team" held at #7. DJ Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" is the first track to break the monotony, rising two spots to #8. Aloe Blacc's "The Man" was even at #9 and OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" was down two to #10.
