The antibiotic was supposed to treat it...
A sinus infection began the path toward Miley Cyrus' hospitalization. As we previously reported, Cyrus was hospitalized yesterday due to a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic, forcing her to cancel her concert. TMZ now reports that the antibiotic in question was cephalexin and was prescribed in order to treat a sinus infection she was diagnosed with last week.
The antibiotic caused Cyrus' throat to swell to the point that she could barely speak. She was rushed to the hospital and doctors diagnosed the allergic reaction. Because she had never received a prescription for cephalexin, she had no idea she was allergic.
This kind of reaction can last up to twenty-seven days; she will remain hospitalized until her condition improves.
