She was twenty-four...
A woman who collapsed while attending the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last week has passed away. THR reports that Kimchi Trong, a twenty-four year-old resident of Oakland, died Thursday afternoon at an area hospital. She collapsed at the festival last Saturday and was rushed to JFK Hospital before being later moved to Desert Region Medical Center.
Concert promoter Goldenvoice described the death as an "apparent drug overdose." However, Sgt. Curt James of the Riverside County sheriff-coroner's office told the site that it wasn't confirmed and said, "We're testing to find out whether drugs or alcohol are involved in the death." The cause won't be known for up to six weeks pending toxicology results.
The statement from Goldenvoice said, "Last weekend, a festival attendee suffered an apparent drug overdose. The individual was seen by on-site medical staff and later transferred to JFK Memorial Hospital and later to Desert Regional Medical Center. We are saddened to learn the individual has died. We believe this to be an unfortunate but isolated incident. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends."
On behalf of 411, our condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Trong.
