Billboard reports that The National, Lorde, Nas with The Roots, The Replacements and Neutral Milk Hotel will perform at the Boston Calling Music Festival on September 5-7. It will take place at the City Hall Plaza. The National will return after perform at the first ever event last year. The first three editions were held in May and September 2013 as well as May 23-25 of this year. The lineup for all events was co-curated by The National songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Dessner.
Dessner said: "Collaborating on the programming of Boston Calling has been such a great experience for me and I feel we are getting better and better with each edition. We were able to book several of my favorite artists in the world for September's lineup, both emerging or relatively new like Lorde, The War on Drugs, Volcano Choir and Future Islands, and long established artists such as The Replacements, Nas, The Roots, Neutral Milk Hotel and Spoon. This lineup is undoubtedly our most exciting one yet and I'm looking forward to returning with The National to play a full headline set with full production for our fans in Boston."
Other performers include Childish Gambino, Spoon, Girl Talk, The 1975, Volcano Choir, Twenty One Pilots, The War on Drugs, The Hold Steady, Lake Street Dive, Bleachers, White Denim, Future Islands and Sky Ferreira. Tickets go on sale Thursday April 24, 2014 at 10 AM ET here and here.
