Rolling Stone reports that Mick Jagger sang Bob Dylan's "Just Like a Woman" at a memorial service in New York in honor of his late girlfriend, L'Wren Scott yesterday (May 2). The service was held at St. Bartholomew's Church in Manhattan.
The memorial service also saw Rolling Stones' backup singer Lisa Fischer sing "Amazing Grace." Friends and family in attendance included: directors Martin Scorsese and Baz Luhrman; actors Julianne Moore, Ellen Barkin, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Meg Ryan; US Vogue editor Anna Wintour; and Randy Bambrough (Scott's Brother).
Scott's body was found on March 17 at her apartment in New York after she committed suicide by hanging. Her funeral was held at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, where Jagger spoke briefly. Longtime Rolling Stones backup singer Bernard Fowler performed "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" with Dave Stewart on guitar.
