Nick Cave, Katy Perry, Tyler, The Creator & Weird Al to Feature on New Concept Album
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.04.2014

Painter Mark Ryden has gathered the most diverse lineup imaginable for his new limited edition concept album. THR reports that Ryden has lined up Nick Cave, Katy Perry, Tyler, The Creator "Weird Al" Yankovic, Kirk Hammett and Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo for The Gay Nineties Old Tyme Music: Daisy Bell.

The album will see each of the artists performing their own covers of "Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two)" a traditional song written in 1892. The album is being released in conjunction with an art show by Ryden titled "The Gay 90s" which opened in LA yesterday. Only 999 copies of the vinyl album will be available and are both hand-numbers and signed by Ryden. Half will be sold at the show and half on Ryden's website starting on May 13th. They cost $99.99, with proceeds going to help Little Kids Rock, which supports musical education in disadvantaged schools.
