Jennifer Lopez To Get Icon Award At Billboard Music Awards
Posted by Joseph Lee on 05.05.2014

Billboard reports that Jennifer Lopez will be given the Icon Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. She will be at the event on May 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. She will also perform (with Pitbull) the anthem of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, "We Are One (Ole Ola)", along with her current single "First Love". The song is on her album A.K.A., which arrives on June 17.

The Icon Award, according to Billboard "recognizes lifetime achievement and an artist's remarkable and enduring contribution to popular music." Lopez is the fourth artist and first woman to win after Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder and Prince.

Larry Klein, producer of the Billboard Music Awards, said: "Jennifer Lopez is one of the most iconic performers of her generation. We are thrilled to honor her historic career with the 2014 Icon Award and will be on the edge of our seats like everyone else when she takes the stage."

Other performers include 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Derulo, Imagine Dragons, Luke Bryan, John Legend and OneRepublic.

The awards are produced by Dick Clark productions. It will air on ABC at 8 PM. Allen Shapiro and Mike Mahan are Executive Producers. Barry Adelman and Mark Bracco, along with Klein, will produce. You can find more information here and here.
