Ariana Grande Gets Eighth-Largest Debut Ever On Billboard Digital Songs Chart
Posted by Joseph Lee on 05.07.2014

Billboard reports that Ariana Grande has the eight-largest ever debut on the chart with "Problem" at #1, selling 438,000 downloads. It's the biggest debut for a song this year and the biggest since Katy Perry's "Roar" debuted with 557,000 downloads on the week of August 18, 2013. The song features Iggy Azalea, which means Azalea is the fifth artist in history to take up the top two spots on the chart. She's also the first to do it since 2012. The last person to do so was Taylor Swift on the week of September 9 with "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" (284,000) and "Ronan" (211,000).

1. Ariana Grande (ft. Iggy Azalea) - "Problem" (438,000)
2. Iggy Azalea (ft. Charli XCX) - "Fancy" (222,000)
3. Pharrell Williams - "Happy" (174,000)
4. John Legend - "All of Me" (161,000)
5. Coldplay - "A Sky Full of Stars" (139,000)
6. DJ Snake & Lil Jon - "Turn Down For What" (126,000)
7. Rixton - "Me And My Broken Heart" (111,000)
8. Jason Derulo (ft. 2 Chainz) - "Talk Dirty" (99,000)
9. Idina Menzel - "Let It Go" (91,000)
10. Ed Sheeran - "Sing" (86,000)

Digital track sales totaled 21.9 million downloads, down 5% from last week (23 million) and down 9% from last year (24.2 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 424 million, down 12 percent compared with the same total at this point last year (482.5 million).
