2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to Air On May 31 On HBO

Zap2It reports that the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony airs on HBO on May 31 from 8-11:15 PM ET/PT. Nirvana, The E Street Band, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens and KISS are the performer inductees, and Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham are the non-performer inductees. Guests include Bruce Springsteen, Lorde, Chris Martin, Carrie Underwood, Stevie Nicks, Glenn Frey, Sheryl Crow, Tom Morello, St. Vincent, Joan Jett, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Kim Gordon, Michael Stipe, Questlove, Youssou N'Dour, Art Garfunkel and Peter Asher.

The ceremony will also air on June 4 (9:00 p.m.), 7 (4:45 p.m.), 10 (2:30 p.m., 4:15 a.m.), 16 (5:15 p.m., 2:00 a.m.), 22 (8:45 a.m.), 27 (1:45 p.m.) and 30 (8:15 a.m.) on HBO. It will air on HBO2 on June 3 (11:00 p.m.), 6 (9:00 p.m.), 8 (2:45 p.m.), 11 (8:00 a.m., 9:00 p.m.), 19 (4:45 p.m.), 24 (11:45 a.m.) and 29 (8:45 a.m.)

The 29th induction ceremony happened on April 10 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the first time the event was held in the city. The HBO special will feature:

Peter Gabriel: Inducted by Chris Martin. Gabriel and Martin perform "Washing of the Water" while Gabriel and Youssou N'Dour perform "In Your Eyes."

Linda Ronstadt: Inducted by Glenn Frey. Carrie Underwood performs Ronstadt's "Different Drum". Underwood, Bonnie Raitt and Emmylou Harris perform "Blue Bayou", Sheryl Crow sings "You're No Good" and Stevie Nicks joins them for "It's So Easy". The group finishes with "When Will I Be Loved?"

KISS: Inducted by Tom Morello

Cat Stevens: Inducted by Art Garfunkel. Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) performs "Father and Son," "Wild World" and "Peace Train."

Daryl Hall & John Oates: Inducted by Questlove. The two perform "She's Gone" and "You Make My Dreams."

The E Street Band: Inducted by Bruce Springsteen, who joins them for "E Street Shuffle" and "Kitty's Back."

Nirvana: Inducted by Michael Stipe. Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselci perform with four female vocalists - Joan Jett for "Smells Like Teen Spirit", Kim Gordon for "Aneurysm", St. Vincent for "Lithium" and Lorde for "All Apologies".

Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham: Inducted by Peter Asher

Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra were the backup band for several performances. This is the third special that HBO has aired. It also presented the 25th anniversary special in 2009 and a concert celebrating the opening of the museum in Cleveland in 1995.
