John Legend Knocks Pharrell Out of Top Spot on Billboard Singles Chart
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.07.2014

It took ten weeks, but someone finally put an end to Pharrell's reign at the top of Billboard's singles chart. Billboard reports that Legend's "All of Me" moved up a spot to the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, dethroning "Happy" after a ten-week reign. It's Legend's first #1 Hot 100 hit and comes after a six-week reign at #2. "Happy" was down one slot to #2.

Meanwhile, Ariana Grande's "Problem" featuring Iggy Azalea debuted at #3. It's the highest chart ranking for either artist and the first of two songs with Azalea in the top ten; her leading role on "Fancy" featuring Charli XCX was up three spots to #4. Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" featuring Juicy J was down two spots to #5.

In the bottom half of the top ten, Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty" featuring 2 Chainz was down two to #6. Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" also slipped to spots, down to #7. Justin Timberlake's "Not a Bad Thing" was up one slot to #8 while Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" from the Frozen soundtrack was down three to #9.
