American Idol Renewed For Season 14
Posted by Joseph Lee on 05.08.2014

According to The Hollywood Reporter, American Idol has been renewed for a fourteenth season. It will travel to fifteen cities for auditions starting on June 18 in Minneapolis. Audition locations include Portland, Oregon, Columbus, Ohio, Kansas City, Missouri, Richmond, Virginia, Albuquerque, New Mexico and more.

The renewal comes even after a large ratings drop for season 13 for season 12. The season saw a 28% drop in the adults 18-49 demographic and has hit more record lows, but its season average sees "heavy sampling" during audition weeks. The Wednesday show has an average 3.6 rating in the demographic and 12.3 million viewers. Idol's current season is falling below Dancing with the Stars and Survivor. Full details will be released after the May finale. Season thirteen ends on May 21 with judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. Host Ryan Seacrest is close to reaching a deal to return.

You can find more details on the auditions here.
