"If this isn't felony vandalism, nothing is."
TMZ reports that the prosecutor investigating the Justin Bieber egging case told the victim (who was Bieber's neighbor at the time): "If this isn't felony vandalism, nothing is."
The neighbor claims that the deputy district attorney that was assigned the case (in the Van Nuys office) called him last week and said that a misdemeanor charge would be "outrageous".
The deputy said: "If we don't charge him with a felony we ruin precedent for every other felony case we want to charge."
Bieber allegedly threw the eggs at the neighbor's home in January. A video at the time revealed Bieber taunting the neighbor during the attack. Police also have surveillance video showing Bieber in the middle of the area at the time of the attack. The neighbor and his daughter were "face to face" with Bieber at the time and saw him. The neighbor has repair bills of over $20,000.
The case and investigation is still ongoing. The deputy D.A. told the neighbor the file is downtown and being reviewed "at the highest level." D.A. Jackie Lacey will likely make the final decision. The office has been going back and forth with charging Bieber with a misdemeanor or a felony.
