Timbaland Compares His New Album to The Chronic
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.14.2014

Timbaland has some lofty opinions about his upcoming LP. The musician/producer, who helped bring Michael Jackson's Xscape to life and has produced albums like Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds and Aaliyah's One in a Million, has compared his upcoming LP Opera Noir to Dr. Dre's landmark album The Chronic, at least in how it relates to him.

Timba talked about the album with Revolt, revealing that the album was called Textbook Timbo but evolved as he grew as an artist.

"My album is called Opera Noir, ‘black opera,'" Timba said. "It's the truth. It's just about life in general. My life. My personal life, and I found myself as an artist, as a human being and as a man."

He continued, "It's way different. It's more of a sound. It's Timbaland's Chronic. Dre have his Chronic, I finally made my Chronic. When it comes out and you see the whole package, you'll understand why. You'll get it, you'll see it, and you'll be like, ‘Wow, I've never seen nothing like this.'"
