Maroon 5 To Release New Album In September
Posted by Joseph Lee on 05.19.2014

Billboard reports that Maroon 5 will release their fifth studio album V on September 2 through Interscope Records. The first single from the album will be released sometime before the album drops. It features production from Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Sam Martin. The band will reunite with keyboardist Jesse Carmichael for the album, who took a break in 2012 to "pursue more full time studies in music and the healing arts."

The band has also signed with Live Nation for a new world tour, with the dates set to be announced soon. They were previously signed wth A&M/Octone, a joint label from Universal Music Group and Octone Records. Last year, Universal label Interscope Geffen A&M got the rights to the leftover 50% of the label and its artists, including Maroon 5, went to Interscope.

The band's last album was 2012's Overexposed. It had the singles "Payphone," "Daylight," "Love Somebody" and "One More Night", which was on top of the Hot 100 for nine weeks. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and was produced by the same people behind V.
