Joe Perry Says He's Not Sure if Aerosmith Will Record Another Album
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.25.2014

Joe Perry is uncertain about Aerosmith's future. The guitarist spoke to Rolling Stone following the group's Bulgarian tour kick-off last week and said he isn't sure whether the band will record a new full-length album following the commercial failure of 2012's Music From Another Dimension! LP. The album debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 album chart and none of the four singles ever charted on the Hot 100 chart.

Perry said that the band will continue to make new music, but wasn't sure if they would release another LP. He said, "I'm obviously disappointed [Music From Another Dimension!] didn't work out the way it was supposed to. But on the other hand, once a record is out, it's out forever. Maybe in two years someone might hear a song off it and go, 'What was that song? It should have been on the radio.' And it might hit a wave again."

He added as to the band's release future, "Our contract to Sony is fulfilled and we're free agents right now. We're trying to figure out what that means. I don't even know if making new albums makes sense anymore. Maybe we'll just release an Ep every six months. I don't know what the future looks like."
