Jimmy Page Says ‘Stairway To Heaven’ Plagiarism Claims Are Ridiculous
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 05.29.2014

Bloomberg Businessweek reports that Jimmy Page says claims that Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven" song plagiarized the 1968 Spirit song "Taurus" are ridiculous.

Lawyer Francis Malofiy recently expressed a desire to seek a copyright infringement lawsuit and a block against the upcoming release of Led Zeppelin IV because his client, the late Randy California, should receive a writing credit on the "Stairway To Heaven" track because it resembles the 1968 "Taurus" song. California played guitar for Spirit.

Speaking on the claims, Page said, "That's ridiculous. I have no further comment on the subject."

Malofiy talking about the case said, "The idea behind this is to make sure that Randy California is given a writing credit on 'Stairway to Heaven.' It's been a long time coming."

Led Zeppelin first three albums are set to be re-issued next month.
