Nicki Minaj and Wiz Khalifa Get Nice Surgers on Billboard Social 50

Billboard reports that Nicki Minaj and Wiz Khalifa had significant surges on the new Billboard Social 50 chart this week.

Minaj rose up the chart form 5-2 after the release of her new single, "Pills N Potions," on May 21. She last peaked on the list on the same spot on February 25, 2012 after her Super Bowl performance with Madonna. The release of Minaj's new single got over half a million mentions on Twitter. She also had a 30 percent increase in views on her Wikipedia page.

Wiz Khalifa moved up from 31-20 after taking a selfie picture in jail after his arrest on May 25. Khalifa was arrested in Texas for possessing marijuana at an airport. He later tweeted a selfie from his jail cell. The post was re-tweeted more than 54,000 times. Khalifa's total re-tweets for the week added up to 473,000 (an increase of 172% from last week. Khalifa also had a 27 percent increase in mentions to his handle on Twitter. He had a nine percent increase in followers on the platform. His fan acquisition went up by 55 percent over the previous week with 281 thousand new fans across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Rounding out the top 10: Bieber remained at No. 1; Miley Cyrus went down from 2-3; Tyrese went up from 12-4; Shakira went down from 3-5; La ArrolladoraBanda el Limon de Rene Camacho stayed at No. 6; 5 Seconds of Summer went down from 4-7; Ariana Grande stayed at No. 8; Katy Perry went up from 14-9; and Iggy Azalea went down from 9-10.
