"She's not Kurt Cobain's peer"..
Billboard reports that Iggy Azalea doesn't think that Lorde was the right choice to perform with Nirvana at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 10 in Brooklyn.
She said: "Nothing against her, but I think when you're doing a tribute to someone that's dead, generally it should be the person's peer. Lorde is not Kurt Cobain's peer. No matter if she killed the performance or not, I just don't think it's appropriate."
Both are young successful artists. Azalea's song "Fancy" (ft. Charli XCX) is at #1 on the Hot 100 for the second week in a row. Lorde's "Royals" was on top of that chart for nine weeks in the last quarter of 2013. Lorde didn't mention Joan Jett, St. Vincent or Kim Gordon, who all performed at various points with Nivrana drummer Dave Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic at the event.
