The Kinks Are Planning to Work New Music

They've finally put their problems behind them...
After nearly twenty years of personal problems, the Kinks have finally resolved them and are talking about doing some new music together. Ray Davies told the Sunday Times that he has met with his brother Dave and are talking about new songs.
Ray said, "I met Dave only last week to talk about getting back together again. We've also spoken a few times on the phone and emailed. He's been composing his own songs, but I'd really like to write with him again. We both agree we don't want to do old stuff or tour with past hits. It's got to be something new."
The two have been at odds for years and haven't played together since 1996. The new Kinks musical Sunny Afternoon got them talking again, with Ray having worked on the script and music. Original drummer Mick Avory said earlier this year that a reunion was close to happening.
