Adam Levine has been slowly expanding his career out of music for a while. The Maroon 5 frontman has become a permanent fixture on The Voice and made his acting debut in American Horror Story: Asylum. Now with his his first film gig set to release, his 222 Records label will release the soundtrack to the film.
Billboard reports that 222 has begun a distribution partnership with Interscope Records, which will start with the release of the Begin Again soundtrack. The album features songs co-written by Gregg Alexander, Danielle Brisebois, Glen Hansard and others. Levine, his former fellow Voice coach Cee-Lo Green and Keira Knightley perform on the soundtrack, which drops on July 1st. The film releases wide on July 11th.
Levine plays an up-and-coming pop star newly-signed to a major label with Knightly playing his songwriting girlfriend who is convinced to record some of her songs with a washed up producer-label owner (Mark Ruffalo). Maroon 5's next album V will release through 222/Interscope on September 2nd.
