James Wan May Direct Malignant Man For Fox
Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.17.2014

Deadline reports that Fox has acquired the rights to James Wan's (Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring, Fast & Furious 7) graphic novel Malignant Man. Wan is planning to adapt the work for Fox and may also direct. He will produce with Stephen Christy and Ross Richie for Fox-based comic company BOOM!, with Adam Yoelin co-producing.

The story follows Alan Gates, a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis who finds out that his tumor is actually a parasite. He gains super powers as a result and decides to fight an evil army that hides within society while trying to unravel the secrets of his past.

Matt Reily and Ryan Jones will oversee the project for Fox. BOOM! owns the largest amount of independent comics outside of Marvel and DC. It has a first-look deal with Fox.
