US Justice Department Claims That The Insane Clown Posse Can't Sue Federal Government
Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.23.2014

Billboard reports that the US Justice Department has asked a judge to dismiss a lawsuit from the Insane Clown Posses over a report that described its fans, the Juggalos, as a dangerous gang.

The government claims that ICP and its fans have no standing to sue, and the government isn't responsible for any problems caused by the 2011 FBI report. A Detroit federal judge will hold a hearing on Monday.

The lawsuit claims that the gang label violates their rights of free speech and due process. Joseph "Violent J" Bruce and Joseph "Shaggy 2 Dope" Utsler claim they are losing fans as a result. They say their fans are a family, not a gang.
