A draft of "Like A Rolling Stone"...
Bob Dylan's 1965 classic "Like A Rolling Stone" is one of the greatest rock songs of all-time, and now it has garnered a price worthy of its stature. THR reports that a working draft of the song that was handwritten by Dylan has sold for $2.045 million, breaking the record for the most expensive lyric sheet ever sold.
The sheet, which is the only known surviving draft of the final lyrics of the song, sold by Sotheby's to an unidentified buyer who is reportedly a longtime fan of Dylan's. The draft was written on paper from the Roger Smith Hotel in Washington, D.C. and features doodles of a hat, a bird and an animal with antlers.
The sheet broke the record of John Lennon's handwritten "A Day in the Life" sheet, which sold for $1.2 million in 2010.
