His trial is set for Septemberů
TMZ reports that Chris Brown turned down a plea deal in his Washington, DC assault case, and the case will go to trial.
Brown was reportedly close to a plea, but the deal fell apart because the prosecutor and Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, could not agree on a statement of fact about the events leading to the alleged assault. Brown said that he did not attack the alleged victim last year outside a hotel. If he pled guilty to assault, he would not have to serve any additional time in jail. However, now he could return to jail since he is going to trial.
Brown's trial date is set for September. His bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, has already been convicted of the assault. You can see a video of Brown leaving the courthouse below.
