“Due to unforeseen circumstances…”
NME reports that a planned photo and memorabilia exhibition for Oasis has been postponed indefinitely. The exhibition was originally set to open at the Future Artists gallery in Manchester on July 18.
The Chasing The Sun exhibition features photographs of the band, alongside memorabilia such as handwritten lyrics donated by Noel Gallagher and the white jacket Liam Gallagher wore on stage when Oasis headlined Glastonbury in 1995. Another room at the gallery was a recreation of the sleeve of Oasis' 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe, with original props from the cover.
Future Artists issued a statement on the postponement: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Future Artists regretfully inform you that the exhibition at the Great Northern, Manchester, has been postponed until further notice. For all updates and developments, subscribe to Oasis.net."
The exhibition is reportedly still expected to take place later in the year. It previously ran for a week at the London gallery, LONDONNEWCASTLE in April and was a success. Liam Gallagher and Bonehead attended the VIP opening, making a surprise appearance.
