Ed Sheeran, Metallica See Biggest Post-Glastonbury Streaming Rises
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 06.30.2014

Ed Sheeran and Metallica saw some big rises in streaming listening following their Glastonbury performances. Spotify announced (via NME that the two acts saw streaming rises of 195% and 165% following their sets at the festival, which concluded this weekend. Arcade Fire was third with 148%, followed by Rodrigo Y Gabriela (123%), and Dolly Parton (95%).

Of course, Sheeran also released a new album just last week which very probably factored in. The news is significant considering that streaming is factoring into more and more music charts; Billboard recently launched a trending chart and factored streaming in a while ago, while the Official Charts Company in the UK began using streaming sites such as Spotify, Deezer, Napster and O2 for the official singles chart last week.
