Explaining his shout out to Jay on "D'usse"...
Lil Wayne says that he gave Jay Z a shout-out on his new track "D'usse" for a very simple reason: he's a god. Wayne spoke with MTV News and explained his respect for his fellow rapper, saying that Hov was simply on his mind when he went in to record.
"Hov is the god — I'll give Hov a big shout out at all times," Weezy told the site. "But we was just on that D'usse heavy. I don't write none of my music — I don't write it down, so I just go in there and say whatever come to my mind. So what came to my mind that night, was what was on my mind that night."
When asked if Jay would do a guest spot on Tha Carter V, Wayne deferred and said, "I'm not gon' bother that guy. I'm not gon' bother him. He seems like he's pretty busy right now, but — you never know."
"Believe Me" was the first official single from the album, followed by "Krazy," and most fans will agree that Wayne is in prime shape right now. When asked what changed between I Am Not A Human Being II and Carter V recording sessions, Wayne said he's just rapping to suit each project.
When asked what was different about him between the recording of the poorly-received I Am Not a Human Being II and his recent work for Tha Carter V, he said, "The beauty of being Wayne and being in control of creativity is [that] I get to do what I want. So if it's the I Am Not A Human Being project, that's the way I'm gonna attack it and approach it. I'm not gonna do it for the mixtape fans, I'm not gonna do it for Tha Carter fans — it's for the I Am Not A Human Being fans and that album went Platinum. When I do a Rebirth album, I pick up my guitar and I end up on the Country Music Awards playing with Kid Rock and Willie Nelson. I approach the situation the way it's supposed to be approached — so this is Tha Carter V album, and this is the way I'm supposed to spit on Tha Carter V."
