UPDATED: Kanye West Says He Can't Be Controlled In Latest Concert Rant
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.05.2014

UPDATE: Here's the video of the rant, if you have an extra fifteen minutes:

Original: NME reports that Kanye West was booed in London during the Wireless Festival as he went on another rant in the middle of a concert. He opened the festival last night with a set that had songs from his entire career. He performed at 9 PM just after performances from Pharrell Williams, Tinie Tempah and Angel Haze on the Main Stage at Finsbury Park in North London. He walked on stage to the sound of snarling dogs. Pharrell was watching from the front row. West wore a white bearded mask over his face for most of the show, in front of a large red LED tower. He performed "Black Skinhead", "Mercy", "Cold" and Chief Keef's "Don't Like" in the opening of the show.

Before "Clique", he said: "A lot of people are controlled by brands and they wonder how I can go on TV and say whatever the fuck I like. It's because of my clique."

Then as West began to perform "Runaway", he went on a long rant, which caused the song to run over ten minutes. He said: "People look at me like I've got a problem. Like I can't be controlled. It's like they want everyone brainwashed. They want to steal you from you. As far as I'm concerned, everyone is a star. How many people here believe they are awesome? What have I ever done but believe in myself? I go to meetings and people treat me as if I'm stupid. I'm not going to name names, I'm not going to dis Nike or anything but don't discriminate against me. They tell me; 'Sit in the front row. Wear this jacket I made for you and do as you're told. That's why I wear this mask. Fuck my face. Spike Jonze told me I'm going to try and do things, not just say I'm going to do them. But seven years ago I met Kim and told her that I was going to marry her.

Many fans cheered but there was audible booing from the back of the audience as the rant and song ended. He will perform again tonight, due to the fact Drake pulled out because of illness. He will then close tomorrow night.

He played the following songs:

'Black Skinhead'
I Don't Like'
'Can't Tell Me Nothing'
'New Slaves'
'Run This Town'
'Diamonds From Sierra Leone'
'All Falls Down'
'Touch The Sky'
'Run This Town'
'Good Life'
'Bound 2'
'Blood On The Leaves'
