Beck Announces Official Song Reader Album
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.09.2014

Billboard reports that Beck has announced an official version of Song Reader, which was previously released in 2012 as sheet music only. It will be released on July 29 through Capitol. Song Reader will include several musicians bringing their own spin to 19 of the 20 songs, including Jack White, Jack Black, fun., Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Norah Jones, Pulp's Jarvis Cocker, Juanes and Laura Marling.

Beck said: "It amazes me to hear how these musicians have made the songs their own and in the process revealed that the interpretation is the living breathing soul of the piece… These interpretations have made the book something new -- something better."

Beck's last album, 2014's Morning Phase, debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 in March, his second-highest charting release so far.
