Iggy Azalea Continues Billboard Singles Chart Domination
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 07.09.2014

Iggy Azalea is continuing her run as the breakout star of the summer. Billboard reports that "Fancy" featuring Charli XCX notched its seventh week on top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The top placement puts her tied with Adele for the fifth-longest reign by a lead female artist on the Hot 100. "Fancy" still has a few weeks to go before it becomes the longest-reigning song of the year; Pharrell Williams' "Happy" spent ten weeks on top of the chart. It faces stiff competition from Magic!'s "Rude" as well, which stayed even at #2 for a second week and closed the gap. It's conceivable that the song could hit #1 next week.

Coming in at #3 for its second week was Ariana Grande's "Problem," which features Azalea. Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong" was also steady with a #4 placement while Sam Smith held even at #5 with "Stay With Me."

Jason Derulo kept the chart stagnancy going, as his "Wiggle" featuring Snoop Dogg stayed even at #6. Calvin Harris' "Summer" was up a place to #7, trading places with John Legend's "All of Me" which dropped to #9. Marron 5 scored their ninth top ten single with "Maps," which was up four to #9, while DJ Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" was down a spot to #10.
