Tupac Shakur Musical Shutting Down

Holler If Ya Hear Me was a flop...
The musical based on the lyrics and poetry of Tupac Shakur is set to close after a disastrous run on Broadway. Variety reports that Holler If Ya Hear Me, which opened on June 19th to poor reviews and very little tickets sold, will close out on next Sunday.
The musical was a risky proposition at $8 million for a run among an audience that skews older and white. It opened without being workshopped or tried out in other venues and quickly fell apart, with weekly sales never hitting the $200,000 mark and attendance last week just 45% that of capacity.
The site reports that the production will be "what amounts to a total loss" and will leave Broadway's Palace Theater vacant without a new tenant booked as of yet.
